Farah Abolghasem

Farah Abolghasem (b. 1960, Tehran, Iran) studied painting at Alzahra University, Tehran, graduating in 1988, and later taught drawing at private institutions, Azad University, and the University of Cinema and Theatre. In 2000 she was selected for the international Windsor & Newton painting competition, and in 2001–2002 held a nine-month residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, winning first prize from the city’s 5th arrondissement. She is a member of the Iranian Painters Association, the French Women Painters Association, and the international Zigmunt group. She has held more than thirty solo and group exhibitions internationally, including a solo show at Hoor Art Gallery, Tehran, in 2022. Her still-life paintings, part of an ongoing series on “inanimate nature,” have been offered at Tehran Auction.
